All you really need to get a book club going is a few friends who like to read, a few books youve been itching to get your hands on, and a time and place to get together. For help with the other details (like how to pick a book, or what to talk about), and ideas on how to make your club a success, check out these resources: In person Stop in, give us a call, or send us an email! The Downers Grove Public Library Literature staff is happy to help you find answers to your book club questions. We can help you come up with possible titles, and once youve got your group together, our interlibrary loan department can be sure that everyone in your group can check out a copy of your selected book. Online Teen Reads on Starting a Book Club This site is a great place to start. Find tips for getting a club up and running, as well as suggested books, along with discussion questions at this up-to-the-minute teen book site. Information for Book Discussion Leaders A bunch of links to help you find a book and find discussion starters. Novelist Use your Downers Grove Public Library card to access this database from home. Click on the For Readers tab, then select Book Discussion Guides, Young Adult Level for great ideas and lots of useful information. Any librarian will be happy to help you with this if you get stuck.
