Movie and TV Reviews Step Brothers ***** Reviewed by Brian Great movie, hilarious throughout. Best movie I ever saw. Batman ***** Reviewed by Brian Very exciting and thrilling movie. Lots of action and suspense. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull * and a half Reviewed by Bill Gates Very cheesy at the end but it has an OK point. A Cry in the Wild *** and a half Based on the book Hatchet by Gary Paulsen. This was a pretty good movie, but when compared to the book it was based on, it isn't very good. Overall, it's a good story about survival. Vantage Point *** Reviewed by Wallace Gates OK but gets obnoxious toward the end. Horton Hears a Who * Reviewed by Kal I'm sorry, but no. No singing, which ruined it. Just...no. I am Legend *** Reviewed by Eric A very intriguing movie. It says that it is a horror movie, but I do not believe that it is very scary at all. The main character is played well by Will Smith. This movie is certainly worth seeing once, if not twice. Hairspray Reviewed by Maria It's very funny and has some amazing music. If you're ready to laugh, rent this movie! Pee Wee's Big Adventure Reviewed by Jill A really entertaining and funny movie from the 1980s. Stardust A very good adventure. National Treasure: The Book of Secrets ***** Awesome! Ben recruits his mom and dad to find the city of gold to clear his ancestor's name. Bee Movie **** Reviewed by Ali It was such a good movie! Uplifting and happy! Jerry Seinfeld proved that he can also act in cartoons and still make the audience laugh. As soon as it comes out on DVD, I’m buying it! Delta Force 13 Reviewed by Bill Gates This movie is hilarious. Ratatouille Reviewed by Ali A delightful and delicious treat. I thoroughly enjoyed the adventure and the different view of life. It portrayed a good message that was applicable to everyone of all ages. Marie Antoinette Reviewed by Ali Sofia Coppola has never ceased to impress me. It's no surprise that this movie is just fabulous. With an amazing soundtrack as its accessory, this period film modernizes the characters' storylines, particularly Marie's. Her journey begins when she is sent to France to marry the Dauphin Louis. Through her journey, she encounters marriage issues, societal perspectives, and economic problems. The movie is beautifully made and well-directed. Go Sophia! The Bourne Ultimatum **** Reviewed by The Dude This movie has a lot of fighting and intense chase scenes. The only bad thing about this movie is that it has bad camera angles in the fight scenes. CD Reviews Indestructible by The Disturbed Reviewed by Emily Disturbed's newest album is their best album ever. Though not as heavy as their earlier works, the music has better melodies and the solos are AMAZING! The album includes their hit single "Inside the Fire." If you want to listen to a Disturbed album, definitely choose this one! Abbey Road by The Beatles Classic Beatles! Awesome songs! Blackout by Britney Spears Reviewed by Anna This is probably the only Britney Spears CD I like. Queen's Greatest Hits by Queen Reviewed by Joe Donofrio Most songs written by Queen's lead singer Freddie Mercury. Includes singles like "We are the Champions" and "Bicycle Race." Appetite for Destruction by Guns N Roses Reviewed by Bill Wallace Gates "Welcome to the Jungle" is ze best song in ze whole world! Beatles I by The Beatles Reviewed by Bill Gates If you like classic rock, you should love The Beatles. Lead guitarist George Harrison and John Lennon and Paul McCartney are awesome. Check it out! Arular; Kala by M.I.A. ***** Reviewed by Ali M.I.A. is certainly not missing in action. In fact, she’s providing the action. No matter what CD you choose, you’ll find an upbeat dance CD, but not your everyday dance. Its genre is classified under World/Dance at Border’s. Besides that you can dance your heart out, M.I.A. gives political messages too. After living in Sri Lanka and moving to England, she has seen political horror. Even while in concert on Nov. 24 in Chicago, she said, “I'm tired of being denied access to your country. I'm not a terrorist.” Definitely a must-listen. Thnks fr th Mmrs by Fall Out Boy Reviewed by Kal Good song. It has been stuck in my head for at least two weeks. Achtung Baby by U2 ***** Reviewed by Emily Widely considered one of the Irish rock group U2's three masterpieces, Achtung Baby is a turn away from their more traditional work in the 1980s, setting the stage for their experimental 1990s work in Zooropa, Original Soundtracks 1, and Pop. Achtung Baby has tracks that speak to the heart, like “One” and “Ultraviolet,” and faster, energetic songs like “The Fly” and “Even Better Than the Real Thing.” Begin to Hope by Regina Spektor ***** Reviewed by Leah The Wreck of the Day by Anna Nalick ***** Reviewed by Leah This album has soulful music mixed with painfully intelligent lyrics. Cool Links ratemyteachers.com ***** Reviewed by Jill Hilarious! Look up your school and find out what others say about your teachers. emmawatson.net Reviewed by Ali Emma Watson is someone I look to as a role model because of her intelligence and acting abilities. This site gives the most up-to-date info on Harry Potter’s favorite “It” girl. Everything is said very tastefully. There are contests for items such as the monthly calendar as well as a fan of the month which is featured in the Watson Weekly, the site’s own made-up magazine on Emma. quizilla.com ***** Reviewed by Liz This website has it all! neopets.com **** Reviewed by The Dude On this website, you create a new pet, sort of a monster, and take care of it. There are many areas you can visit. Also, this is packed with games which give you neopoints, the currency of neopets. Finally, the website updates about two times every week and gets one event about every season. Picks & Pans Rating System * Leave it on the shelf. ** Just OK. *** Worth a look. **** Highly recommended! ***** Don’t die without checking this out! |
