The library offers hundreds of magazines and newspapers in hard copy and via online sources that can be used at home by Downers Grove cardholders.

Magazine Databases & Websites
Search for full-text articles from a wide variety of popular and academic periodicals.

Newspaper Databases & Websites

Look for current news or find reports of historical events.  Locate obituaries, access local newspapers, and find information in such special fields as business, education, and law.

Union List of Serials
The ULS lists the periodical holdings of libraries in the Metropolitan Library System (MLS).  Search for a particular magazine or newspaper, or find a complete list of periodical holdings at a particular library.

Interlibrary Loan (ILL)

If you cannot locate a particular magazine or the holding library is not conveniently located near you, we can order copies of articles for you through Interlibrary Loan. To do this we will need a complete citation from you with the title of the magazine or journal, the title of the article, the date the article appeared and, if available, the author of the article. Contact the reference desk with your request. We are able to locate and supply most articles requested.
