2017 kicks off a strategic planning year. With your help, we've created a plan that will guide our service focus for the next three years. Check back at www.dglibrary.org/plan for updates throughout the process. Email Library Director Julie Milavec at email@example.com with questions.

April - May 2017: The Downers Grove Public Library’s Strategic Plan 2017-2020 comes before the Board for approval in two parts: One Page Strategic Plan and full Strategic Plan,
including Action Plan.
The One Page Strategic Plan is a communication tool for Board and staff to convey the Values, Purpose, Core Services, and Strategic Focus to community members. Easily memorized and quick to read, it can be used as a handout, poster, or conversation prompt. The library management team compiled, condensed, and edited based on information gathered January-March 2017. The Library Board of Trustees approved the One Page Strategic Plan on May 24, 2017.
Summer 2017: The library’s management team drafted the Action Plan for review by Library Board of Trustees. The Action Plan lists goals, objectives, and actions, with measurable outcomes and target dates for completion, which address the Strategic Focus areas. It clarifies what resources are required to reach the goal. The Action Plan is primarily an internal document to guide the library’s planning, budgeting, and delivery of services and resources.
The full Strategic Plan 2017-2020, presented as a first draft in June, second draft in July, and final draft approved in August. A single action item was removed for further consideration in August and restored to the plan in September.
The Capital Assessment report is available both here and in hard copy at the Ask Us Desk on the second floor.
