“Children of Peace” Installation Gallery

The library’s new statue, “Children of Peace” was installed on July 16, 2002. Scroll through the pictures below to view the installation.

1. The sculpture is lifted off the truck.

2. The sculpture is unpacked from the crate.


3. Workers lift up the sculpture, and draw a template for the base.

4. The cement block, on which the sculpture will be mounted, is measured to assure a proper fit.

5. Holes are drilled in the cement block for the bolts that will secure the sculpture to the ground.


6. Now that the holes are drilled, the statue is wheeled to the cement block where it will be set.

7. The statue is lowered slowly on the cement block.


8. The statue is secured to the cement block.


9. “Children of Peace” graces the library’s garden walk for all to enjoy.
