IT Manager

The Downers Grove Public Library is looking for a friendly, customer-service oriented manager for our busy IT Department. We are looking for candidates who will:

  • provide great customer service to patrons and staff

  • effectively lead a staff consisting of an assistant manager, technology assistant, technology trainer, and seven computer help desk associates

  • maintain operation of all servers and regularly back up and review back-ups of servers, applications, files, and folders

  • oversee the local area network, wireless networks, exchange, computer and print management, and website servers, firewalls, security, and anti-virus protection

  • plan expansion and upgrades of computers and software

  • troubleshoot computer problems on servers and on staff and public workstations

  • oversee and plan for the future of the library’s Digital Media Lab

  • be an active participant in the library’s management team

This full-time position requires a bachelor’s or higher degree in computer science or related information technology field and at least three years of relevant experience, preferably in a library setting. The salary range for the position is $62,000-$93,000 per year. The starting salary will depend on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience. A generous benefits package is included.
