Fractured Fairy Tales*

*Stories that sound familiar, but aren’t quite the way you remember them.

Author Jon Scieszka and illustrator Lane Smith reawakened an interest in fractured fairy tales with their 1989 picture book The True Story of the Three Little Pigs, in which Mr. Wolf finally gets to tell his side of the story. (He was framed!)

Since then, characters like Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Prince Charming have been leading much more exciting lives! Hold onto your glass slippers, because these aren’t your grandmother’s fairy tales...
