Nonfiction Book Discussion

Monday, November 3, 2014 - 7:30pm to 9:00pm
We'll meet at the library to discuss A House in the Sky by Amanda Lindhout.

Growing up in a small town in Canada, Amanda Lindhout dreamed of exploring the world. After travelling from Venezuela to Afghanistan, Lindhout decided to pursue a career as a journalist. During a trip to Somalia, she and her photojournalist companion were kidnapped and held for 15 months by young Somali bandits. Suffering brutal treatment, Lindhout survived by imagining herself in “a house in the sky.” A powerful story of courage, forgiveness, and strength.
