Living in Longmeadow
Back in 1971 we have some extra time on our hands on the way to O’Hare and we saw a model home in Longmeadow. We bought it. Then we flew to Denver and when we came back signed off on the deal. We have lived here for over thirty years now, raised our family, put in a swimming pool and call our back yard a cottage! It’s a great place to live and shop – five minutes from Oak Brook mall, 10 minutes from Yorktown Mall, and only eight minutes from the train.

Historic 820 Maple Avenue
The current owner for more than 75 years is Gen Pfaff Dolatowski. According to the book Downers Grove 1832 to 1982, the house was built in the late 1800s. It originally sat and the corner of Maple and Belden and has been owned by the Beldens, the Curtiss’, the Lymans, the Methodist Church, and the Pfaffs. It has ten-foot ceilings and its original windows downstairs, front porch posts, and spindled fretwork.
